Empathy is the bridge that connects us to others' experiences.
DESTINEE SCIACCA, SOCIAL WORK INTERN
As a mental health counselor intern, my approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for the unique experiences of each individual. I have over seven years of experience in varying human service roles including in schools, domestic violence shelters, and private practice settings. I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults of all ages!
I specialize in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. To create individualized therapeutic interventions, I draw from a variety of frameworks including existential therapy, person-centered care, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and attachment theory. This multi-faceted approach allows me to meet clients where they are and guide them toward healing and personal growth in whatever way they see fit.
My ultimate goal as a therapist is to create a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and build resilience. I believe that fostering a strong therapeutic alliance is key to empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and achieve their desired outcomes.
My guiding principle is: “Empathy is the bridge that connects us to others' experiences.” I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those I serve and am excited to continue this vital work as I complete my internship under the supervision of Lee Ann Robinson (LSCSW).
The rate for interns is 40.00 per session and cannot be billed to insurance.
